Bear images decorate city buildings, police cars and hand-painted bear statues, celebrating New Bern's 300 year anniversary, pop up everywhere. Even our own MLS Neuse River Region Assocation of REALTORS® has its own super hero bear. The black bear appears on the flag of the City of New Bern and some of the public building bears are named after royalty . . .“King William I”, "William II" and “Crown Prince Albert”.
When visiting New Bern for the first time tourists really enjoy seeing all the wonderful bears. Shops sell all manner of representations of the bears so I guess you could say it’s a "Beary” Good Place To Live!
